Venue: Home (Sportplatz Rote Erde)
Opponent: München RFC
Final Score: Vorarlberg RUFC 7 – 43 München RFC
A sun-drenched Saturday provided the perfect backdrop for a highly anticipated clash between Vorarlberg and München RFC. With a great atmosphere and a large crowd looking on, both sides fielded nearly full squads, promising a high-level spectacle of rugby.
The match opened with a challenge for the home side. Munich established early physical dominance, particularly through their front row, consistently testing the Vorarlberg defense. Despite a determined defensive effort, Munich found gaps to cross the line three times in quick succession, pulling ahead 0–21.
Vorarlberg refused to surrender. Following a series of strong carries from the pods, the local side began clawing back territory meter by meter. The pressure paid off when Sinner received the ball and went on a magnificent solo run to put Vorarlberg on the board. With the conversion, the score sat at 7–21. However, Munich was quick to retaliate, scoring once more before the whistle to send us into halftime trailing 7–28.
The second half was a much tighter, more technical affair. Defined by heavy tackles, hard carries, and a high volume of scrums, the pace of the game slowed down. Notably, the Vorarlberg pack showed massive improvement in the set piece, holding their own against a heavy Munich scrum compared to the first half.
While the final whistle blew at 7–43, the match provided invaluable experience for a developing Vorarlberg side.
