Last weekend, the "Ländle" crew made the trip to the Tyrol. With carpools organized and 17 dedicated players ready for action, the stage was set for a classic West-Austrian derby under perfect playing conditions.


The opening minutes were a masterclass in defensive resilience. Both teams traded heavy hits and solid tackles, with neither side willing to concede an inch. The physicality was at an all-time high as the score remained deadlocked. Eventually, after a series of well-executed phases, the home side managed to pierce the line to make it 7–0.


Vorarlberg responded with typical defiance. Through slow, persistent pressure from the pods, the visitors crept toward the line. Cris finally capitalized on the momentum, executing a clinical "pick-and-go" to level the score at 7–7. It remained a nail-biter until the final moments of the half, when Innsbruck managed to snatch the lead back, heading into the break at 14–7.


The second half brought a tactical shift. Innsbruck moved away from the tight exchanges, implementing a "kick-and-chase" strategy that stretched the field. This tactical pivot limited the opportunities for the Vorarlberg forwards to carry the ball in hand, and the scoreboard began to favor the home side. Despite the mounting pressure, Cris put in an outstanding shift, securing a brace with his second try of the match in the closing stages. While the final whistle blew at 59–14, the team leaves with valuable lessons and their heads held high.

A massive shoutout to Leopold and Laszlo on their club debuts! Debuting in a derby is a baptism of fire, and both put in a fantastic performance. We are also incredibly proud of our traveling squad—seeing our numbers increase for away games is a testament to the growing spirit of the club.
